During November 2013 GMB & ASDA formed a “Joint Manual Handling in Home Shopping” working group. The aim of the group was to review the manual handling practice both existing and proposed, in order to identify and control the risks through design, training and process. The consultations have produced a lower van design, which should ease loading and unloading issues, and is now being trialed.
